Tayep bin Yop is a self-taught, full-time artist. He now works in the abstract realm and creates complex images with pronounced diagonal, vertical and horizontal lines, resulting in a sinuous line pattern which has become his trademark. Tayep is regarded as a Malaysian artist with a significant role to play in shaping the direction of contemporary art in our country.
